Celebrating a successful 2024 with Week2Week

At the start of a brand new year, we are delighted to share a round-up of Week2Week’s highlights and achievements in 2024. This has been an incredible year of collaboration, recognition, and giving back to the community—all while reinforcing our commitment to excellence in the serviced accommodation sector.

January

  • We kicked off the year with a special invitation for Claire to participate in a podcast with the Entrepreneurs’ Forum, discussing the trailblazing journey of women in the workforce. This inspiring conversation set the tone for a year of empowerment and growth.
  • We also welcomed Amanda as our new Marketing and Sales Manager. With over 25 years of industry experience, Amanda brings a wealth of knowledge and fresh ideas to the business, driving initiatives that strengthen and widen our connections with the business community.

February

Week2Week proudly supported the Children’s Heart Unit Fund (CHUF) by taking part in their annual Wear It Red Day. This heartfelt initiative helps make a difference for children with serious heart conditions.

March

  • Tom, our four-legged team member, officially became our Chief Happiness Officer (CHO). Tom’s is an invaluable member of the Week2Week team and is often seen welcoming visitors into the Week2Week office.
  • We hosted two work experience placements for a local school, providing the students with valuable insights into the world of marketing and business operations. During their placements, the students engaged in practical tasks, from assisting with marketing campaigns to shadowing team members.

April

  • We showcased our services at the Spring North East Expo at Newcastle Racecourse, engaging with regional businesses and forging valuable connections.
  • Week2Week attended the Short Stay Summit in London, hosted by the UK Short Term Accommodation Association (STAA) in partnership with the European Holiday Home Association (EHHA). This leading business conference provided an excellent platform for short-term rental property managers and owners to expand their networks, exchange best practices, and learn from one another, while celebrating the resilience and unity of the sector.

We attended the North East Chamber’s Inspiring Females Conference, an event celebrating and empowering women in business across the region.

June

  • We attended the Global Relocate Awards in London, where we were thrilled to be awarded Runner-Up for the Best Small Business Award—a testament to our hard work and dedication.
  • We also supported the charitable organisation Circus Starr, which organised an accessible and relaxed circus event for children who are disabled, disadvantaged, or have additional learning needs.

July

  • We hosted a work placement for a local 6th form student, offering hands-on experience in marketing and providing an opportunity to learn the ropes in a professional environment.
  • Week2Week also joined the Visitor Ready scheme, an AA and Visit England-backed accreditation program. This mark of compliance provides consumers with confidence in safety, cleanliness, and adherence to key visitor expectations, helping businesses build trust and reliability in today’s market.

August

We said goodbye to our team member Caroline and welcomed Cloe as the newest addition to Week2Week. Cloe has already become an integral part of the team in her role as Business Administrator, bringing enthusiasm and fresh perspectives.

September

Week2Week proudly sponsored the Entrepreneurs’ Forum Awards at The Newcastle Gateshead’s Hilton Hotel. This prestigious event celebrated the achievements of the North East’s most talented entrepreneurs, highlighting their contributions to the region’s success.

Another standout month for Week2Week:

  • We celebrated Sarah’s 10-year work anniversary, honouring her dedication and contributions to the team. Her unwavering commitment and enthusiasm has been instrumental in driving our success. Here’s to the next 10!
  • We participated in Breast Cancer Now’s Wear It Pink Day by hosting a bake sale and raffle. Thanks to our team’s efforts and the generosity of our supporters, we raised a total of £470 on the day for this vital cause.
  • Week2Week’s Claire was featured in “The Big Interview” in Northern Insight magazine, highlighting our unique client care approach in the serviced accommodation industry.
  • Claire was also interviewed on the “Fear Less Do More” podcast, where she discussed the importance of quality over quantity, providing a people-centric alternative to the serviced accommodation industry. She also emphasised the need for regulation in the hosting industry and the importance of helping people develop and upskill. You can hear the podcast via Spotify, Apple and You Tube.

November

  • ASAP Annual Conference: Week2Week were one of the proud sponsors of the sold-out ASAP Annual Conference held in London. This event attracted industry leaders from all over the world and featured 30 expert speakers, including keynote speaker and travel writer; Simon Calder. There was also lots of great networking opportunities throughout the day. The fundraising efforts at the event supported Prostate Cancer UK, with an outstanding total of £6,625 raised.
  • Autumn North East Expo: We returned to Newcastle Racecourse to exhibit at the North East Expo, strengthening our connections with local businesses and exploring new business opportunities.
  • Inspiring Females Awards: Week2Week was delighted to be shortlisted for Most Inspiring Employer – Small Business at the Chamber of Commerce’s Inspiring Females Awards. celebrating our commitment to supporting women in business.

Snowflake Ball – Week2Week proudly sponsored The Sick Children’s Trust and CHUF’s Snowflake Ball. Attending this unforgettable event, we were thrilled to witness the live auction and fundraising activities, which raised over £35,500 on the night. These funds directly support seriously ill children and their families in the North East.

Community Support

Throughout the Year Week2Week has provided ongoing support for families helped by the Children’s Heart Unit Fund (CHUF) at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle. By offering support and accommodation solutions during challenging times, we aim to ease the burden on families when a young member is undergoing life-saving treatment.
