As director of Week2Week Serviced Apartments and a mother myself, I know it can be a tricky balancing act between work and family life. While booming business may see you on the road, going from city to city and conference to conference, it’s important – albeit sometimes difficult – to find time to spend with the family.
Easter is one of those times, along with Christmas, birthdays and weddings when the family come together for a few days, and business – quite rightly – takes a back seat. When Easter arrives for us at chez Parry, it means quality family time. The kids mucking in with arts and crafts, and of course, tucking into a chocolate Easter egg or two…or three.
The north east is a great place to be any time of the year and there’s always something going on – and Easter is no different. If you’re stationed in a Week2Week apartment (if not, why not…?) in Newcastle for business this April, and you’re looking to have the family visit, there’s any number of events happening to keep the little ones entertained.
The Centre for Life, in the city’s Times Square is running Easter activities from April 8 -23. Or if the great outdoors is more your thing, nearby Gateshead’s Gibside is offering events for every day of the two week school holiday with even more National Trust properties promising to keep away the cries of boredom from the little lovelies. So no matter if it’s the first day of the holiday or the last, there’s always something happening in the great north.
Easter egg hunts are always a favourite, and the region delivers again, with a quick Google search showing a multitude of hunts across Northumberland, County Durham and Tyne and Wear, ensuring plenty of fun and laughs for the kids, and even you hungry parents who are partial to a bit of chocolate – I know you’re out there.
Hopping from hotel to hotel is far from perfect at the best of times, never mind when you have the family in tow. Cramped, copy and paste rooms may just about suffice when you are on the road by yourself for one night, but it simply won’t do for a whole clan.
With Week2Week Apartments, you can have a whole apartment rather than a just a room. With enough space for the kids to run around and enjoy the holiday, you will also have enough room to find a quiet corner for those must-do jobs. It’s a balancing act akin to the tightrope walkers at a circus, but with a Week2Week apartment you can get that balance in check.
